Dr Chu K (CK) Yao
Dr CK Yao is an Advanced Accredited Practising Dietitian and a credentialed Advanced Practising Gastrointestinal Dietitian with more than ten years’ experience in research and clinical dietetics. She is one of the few dietitian–scientists in Australia and has special interests in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), irritable bowel disease (IBS) and other functional gut disorders, coeliac disease, gastroesophageal reflux, eosinophilic esophagitis, diverticular disease, healthy or plant-based eating and general good gut health.
CK obtained a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics with Honours from Deakin University in 2009. In 2017, she completed a PhD exploring the use of new technology to measure the effects of diet therapies in the gut before completing a postdoctoral fellowship in Hong Kong. She has published over 50 peer-reviewed research articles, contributed to the education of dietitians both nationally and internationally and sits on the Gastroenterology Leadership Team for Dietitians Australia. She holds a clinical position at Eastern Health and leads a research program exploring diet strategies in preventing and treating symptoms of J-pouch in ulcerative colitis with Monash University.
CK is passionate about improving your confidence in understanding your gut health and helping you on your journey with finding the right nutrition for you.
